Atlas created this model of a Pennsy X53A 50’boxcar. Penn Central rostered about 300 of these, so it should be a fairly common car on my layout. The plug door and insulated floor suggest that they were used for lading that needed at least a modicum of climate control.
It’s a decent model, but the bottom sill and roof are wrong. Until I have enough time to correct these discrepancies, the model will suffice in its current form. I think I’ll go a bit lighter on the weathering for the other X53A on my workbench but this is how PC 153530 will present for the time-being. Just don’t look to closely or too long at the details 😉
